Blog 3: post due 5 pm, Sun., Feb. 9; comment due 5 pm, Mon., Feb.  10.

Choose one.

1. Use the blog as a dry run for the position paper: engage with either or both of the critical selections to make an argument about Felix Holt.

2.  Felix doesn't manage to convert a single workingman to his point of view, he fails to keep the mob from rioting and is arguably responsible for a death, and he does a terrible job of defending himself in court, requiring the Tory DeBarrys' intervention to avoid transportation. Why does Eliot create such an ineffectual protagonist?
